Do you want to work online without making it a full-fledged career? If so, then a lack of experience may not matter, as these positions are open to people looking to make quick cash via the Internet.

Earning money online is a great way to supplement your income. And unlike a standard job, you don’t have to worry about transportation costs or being away from your kids, as you can work from the comfort of your couch.

What’s a big problem with breaking into the world of online work? Many believe they need experience to get noticed or hired. And while it can certainly help, these online positions are examples of how experience isn’t always necessary.

Data Entry

If you have a computer and know how to type, you can work at home doing data entry for companies worldwide. Will you get rich doing it? No, but it can add to your income, and the work is relatively straightforward.

Some companies that hire data entry workers include Support Ninja, Axion Data Services, and Sigtrack.

Search Engine Evaluator

When you want to find information on the Internet, what do you do? You go to a search engine like Google and type in what you’re looking for.

To ensure users like yourself get the best experience and relevant results, companies hire search engine evaluators. As one, you’ll be tasked with looking at search results and making sure they’re accurate and free of spam.

To work in search engine valuation, you should be up to speed on current events, know how to use the Internet, and have solid communication skills. You can try to find work as a search engine evaluator through companies like Workforce Logiq, Appen, Lionbridge, or Google.

Virtual Assistant

While some companies prefer to have in-person assistants at their offices, others hire virtual assistants. This allows you to help a company stay organized without having to go to the office, so the possibility exists that you could work for someone from the other side of the globe.

A virtual assistant should be dependable, efficient, a solid communicator, and highly organized.

Typical duties may include scheduling appointments, answering phones, writing and responding to emails, maintaining records, and filing.

Some companies that hire virtual assistants include Time Etc and Servcorp, or you could create a profile on a site like Upwork or Fiverr to advertise your services to smaller businesses or individuals.

Proofreader

Can you spot errors or typos with ease? Then working as an online proofreader may be up your alley.

While you may not need experience to get hired for this position, you probably will have to take a test to showcase your skills. You can look for proofreading work on Upwork and Fiverr.

Online Juror

Before going to trial, some lawyers need feedback from people with similar profiles to potential jurors. They’ll use this information to prepare for the trial, and you can participate and get paid for your time by becoming an online juror.

Sign up to trusted online juror sites like JuryTalk, Online Verdict, and eJury, and you could get paid up to $60 for your time. The more sites you sign up to, the more chances you have of getting selected.
