Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Mortgage Loan Originator at Housing Nonprofit Corporation. The Mortgage Loan Originator will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with underwriting, loan origination, mortgage lending, and managing loans. The role is primarily located in Boca Raton, FL, with the flexibility to work from home.

Housing Nonprofit Corporation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that collaborates with agencies and lenders to administer affordable housing programs. We specialize in originating loans which include a traditional private lender in the first lien and State or County funds in the second lien. We work primarily with low and middle income borrowers who need help with down payment or closing costs.
We will provide you daily leads along with access to our technology so you can match borrowers with the best mortgage options to fit their budget. You will have access to our housing grants database to match borrowers with available grant funding and be provided support to originate mortgage loans all the way through closing.
Our funding comes from grants provided by Google, Microsoft, Morty Inc, as well as contributions from a network of participating lenders who support affordable housing. We are located in Boca Raton, FL, on the campus of Florida Atlantic University.
Qualifications

- Experience in the affordable housing industry is a plus

Finance Intern

Role Description
This is a part-time finance intern role with our organization. As a finance intern, your day-to-day tasks will include leveraging our cutting edge technology to analyze financial data and compute mortgage pricing to match consumers budgets. You will gain experience structuring mortgage products and bundling several mortgages into portfolios based on risk profile. Your analysis will include due diligence, financial statement preparation, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and providing support to the Mortgage Origination team. Your work will have an immediate social impact by creating access to financing. You will also contribute to developing new policies that help the public and private sector work together in administering affordable housing programs. This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of being located in Boca Raton, FL, but with flexibility for some remote work.

- Seeking degrees in Data Analysis, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Public Policy, or Accounting
- Experience with financial statement analysis
- Strong communication skills

Marketing Intern

Role Description
This is a part-time Marketing intern role with our organization. As a marketing intern, your day-to-day tasks will include communicating with State and County housing agencies to understand their affordable housing programs. You will seek to understand who is the target demographic for each program and develop marketing content that speaks to the dream of home ownership. You will study housing policy and real estate markets in various cities across the country and create engaging content about why someone might choose to buy a home in one area versus another. You’ll see for yourself how Marketing and Communications can influence Urban Planning and Development.
You will benefit from working directly with an experienced marketing agency (nonprofitmegaphone.com) who currently manages our $100,000 budget for google paid search advertising.
Lastly, you’ll take a deep dive into Public Relations and Crowdfunding where we study together how some of the most important social causes in history have gained followings. We’ll seek to distill those lessons into practical steps for our own efforts to fundraise and spread awareness.
